THOMAS PALMER

Thomas Palmer worked with Nadia Toulouse in the late seventies on her monumental conceptual performance pieces "Demonstrating the Denominations of Infinity" and "Hlystcap...for Verna" while studying graphic design in New York City. He then moved to Newport with to work with Richard Benson on various printing projects and steam engines. After choreographing "Steam Feat..." and "with Subtitles" for the Island Moving Company he declined further commissions and retired from the dance world. He made photogravure plates until he became more interested in economies of scale and began making separations for photography books. His photographs have been shown at URI, SRU, and the Island Arts Gallery as well as venues in Washington, D.C., New York City and New Hampshire. He currently makes digital image captures and separations for photography books and consults to the trade. He is married, has two daughters and lives in Newport.
