"Living in the environment that I do, I am captivated and intrigued by weather. The ocean, the sky, and the sand are constantly in flux due to the approach and departure of storms and varying weather patterns. Storms approach, winds switch, swells build, erosion begins, clouds shift, waves break, and lighting changes in the blink of an eye." "I have spent the majority of my life trying to make sense of such dramatic changes. The changes are so subtle that the effect of such change can only be documented over long periods of time and with methodical and persistent observations. The collection of information and documentation of my environment becomes the medium from which I attempt to understand and interpret my existence with the ocean. Be it the collection of sand and water or meteorological data, I have a very childlike fascination and need to understand how it all works. For each of us, weather is a universal experience." |
