| William Allen is a poet and painter who has become interested in place names and taxonomies of all kinds, especially those with scientific agencies doing the naming. He is the author of The Man on the Moon (NYU/Persea Presses, 1987) and Sevastopol: On Photographs of War (Xenos Books, 1997).

Jacques Villon was a brother to Marcel Duchamp and Raymon Duchamp-Villon. All three brothers were artists, seen here in 1914 a year after the Armory Show (where they all exhibited). Duchamp (left), Villon (middle), and Duchamp-Villon (right) are together with a dog.
